"Moonchild Syndrome" is a condition in which people who had previously been under Moonchild's mind control still hear her voice talking to them.

History[]

Season Four[]

"We gave ourselves over to her, damn it! I can’t say her name, like – to Moonchild! I gave my will over to her, and I don’t think I can ever get it back. Not really. Not the way it was before. When I make decisions now, I think about what she’d do, what she’d want. That monster. I still want to please her. And then I want to do the opposite. I don’t know who I really am, anymore." - Saeed[1]

After Moonchild's death, some of the people who she had mind controlled continue to hear her voice talking to them. Some of these people have become dependent on her and feel as if they can no longer make decisions for themselves.[1]

After using hypnosis to try and uncover some forgotten memories of their time with Moonchild, Runner Five begins hearing her speaking to them again. She presents Five with memories of conversations they had about the Edda of the Wakened Warriors. She also guides them to a Comansys office to retrieve a keycard and to her underground bunker to retrieve a missing excerpt of the Edda. Moonchild then falls silent again, but not before saying that she will always be with Five.[2]
