Monica Kaye is a former employee of the Varela Clinic and an expert in immunoblotting.

Season 1[]
After the start of the apocalypse, Monica and several other scientists from the Keeley Centre take up residence in the Steve Reeves Hospital. There, they continue their research into zombie virus. A group of employees from Pandora Haze arrive at the hospital, offering to share research. Monica and the other scientists agree. However, when the Pandora Haze employees return, they proceed to kill the scientists and destroy their research. Monica manages to survive the attack, although she is injured and bitten. She is soon found by two people from New Canton - Archie and Runner Five. Monica warns them that Professor Van Ark said he is targetting New Canton next. Monica admits that she has been bitten and asks them to kill her. After a moment of hesitation, Archie agrees and shoots her.[1]
