"Training Mission 1" is the first mission of the Monarch of the Crows Virtual Race.
A sudden injury turns a day of exploring the countryside into a hunt for a doctor. But the crows are massing, and help may come at a price.

Ley-Lines
You are exploring the ley-lines of rural England with Sam and Ernie. Ernie found a map in a second hand shop depicting some of those ley-lines and it is that map you'll be using today. It's sweltering though, and Sam suggests you head towards the river to have lunch.
Call for Help
Sam's scrumped apple is less than appealing when he discovers that it's full of maggots. There should be a pub here according to Sam. Ernie screams and collapses and you discover that he has been bitten by a snake. There's no phone box, but you should be able to call from one of the nearby cottages. Run!
A Murder
No-one seems to be answering. Sam sees what looks like a village in the distance, although there was no village on the map. It goes dark when the sky is suddenly filled with crows. They seem aggressive. You should get moving.
Abel Village
A sign says 'Abel Village' which Ernie's book says was wiped out by the plague in 1348. It does not look abandoned though, and there are dead crows nailed to the wood. No wonder the crows are upset!
Static Signal
The crows seem like they're herding you, and they aren't above trying to attack. You hear a voice on your walkie-talkie which shouldn't be possible. When you change the channel you hear a strange singing. Sam spots people near the houses holding torches and the crows are avoiding them. Get over there!
No Escape
You're welcomed to the village by Phil, the leader. You won't find a phone here; they don't involve themselves with the outside world. Phil says there's a welcome feast for you, and you won't be able to leave until the ceremony is over. There is no escape.
