Jamie is a former fireman who has been taking care of a group of children at the fire station, originally with Lem's help, but now alone. He refuses to send the children to Abel Township or New Canton, not wanting them to get involved in the politics of either place and targets by association. He becomes Archie's boyfriend after rescuing her and Runner 5 from a horde of zombies while they were rescuing some children.
Jamie eventually becomes Abel Township's new Runner 10. Later is he is found to be the legal King of England and he leaves to do his duty, becoming King Jamie the First
